Vintage Excellent Condition
Drum Values-need help?

I have a number of vintage drums and would like to sell them .
I need help on the potential values .
1-1930′s or 40′s Slingerland wood snare ,skin heads , origional
carry bag and sticks. Excellent condition-looks like it was almost
never played , no scuffs on heads. Radio king type but it doesn’t
have that marking.
2- Echotone fiberglass conga drum- From the origional Santana
band-pictured inside of the album Abraxis. These drums were made for the band , former property of Chipito Areas-he was a
friend of mine. Good condition but needs minor repair to the
shell , scuffed , black , origional head!
I should of gotten more stuff from the band.
Any one know of potential values?

Well first of all I hope you are not in a hurry to get rid of that Slingerland snare. Register if not already an eBay member, then over a period time place some of those vintage snares on your “Watch Status”. What are those ending bids at ? $$$, take some notes and or print some of them after they have ended. Take your time because I have done this myself just to see the ending price, and some of those Vintage Ludwig, Rogers and yes Slingerland went for some very big bucks.
Second option here with that snare is to look into your phone book, some of those independent my specialize in vintage drums and give you a quote. Ask for a trade in value and a sell out-right. The trade in maybe 1/4 of the actual value, you know they don’t do any thing for free and they will sell that and make a big profit off that transaction. As for the “Sell our-right”, they my only tell you 1/2 to 3/4ths the value. This is to make you feel that is it really worth it?, should I take the time to run in add and come up with on calls, etc.
What ever you do DON’T DISCLOSE ANYTHING ABOUT EBAY OR THE INTERNET, because they won’t give you the time of day. NO BUSINESS or TRANSACTIONS, they lose out too to much business because of this option.
Try the same with the Coga, disclose all information and it’s condition.

NOTE: These items have no real vaule, but they will after you sell them to your local shop. The same works for Sports cards, firearms and cars, etc. Just take your time can play it cool. (77)
