I have not used the Vista media center to view TV w Digital TV USB Stick – is the best or the other?

I have a desktop with Windows Vista Home Premium and wants to buy a Digital TV USB Stick and use it to watch TV outdoors, travel time and schedule recording. I have no experience with this sort of thing and have tried Investigate the various software products available but have not found anybody who has personally used Windows Media Center for it. Can someone help, even if has used another successful product and may suggest that? Thank you.
