Need Help With My Sony DCR-DVD908 Camcorder?
I Got This Camcorder,And I Was Expecting Great Audio And Video Quality. The Video No Questions Bout It But The Audio Sucks I Filmed A Concert And All I Hear Is Distorted Sound. First off, don’t just think about a Sony mic. The mic on the camera is designed to pick up anything and everything. If you want to record a concert you might want to look at thing mics used by those that trade concerts on CD. Mics can be so subjective. You might also go to a local music store and have then walk you through some of their mics so you can hear the difference. Some video rental shops can let you do this as well.
Secondly, the mic doesn’t mean anything if you don’t monitor the “levels”. You should have an option for audio in your menu. This will display the audio levels on the LCD. There might be a triangle or a portion of the bar that turns red. Too much red = crappy audio.
In the past I have used a combination of the boxes provided by BeachTek Audio. The DXA-V6u is new but includes both a VU meter and two XLR inputs. You still need to make sure the camera is recording at the proper level, but I like these boxes.
