What is a good digital SLR camera photography studio?
I will start college soon with a major in photography. I've done the research, but not very well known SLR. I will be a studio photographer with a focus on portraits and fashion models. I currently have a budget of $ 3000 for the camera and $ 1500 for other ancillary equipment.
I use two bodies Nikon D200, a Nikon F4, a camera view camera Sinar 4×5 and 8×10 Calumet. I use them all when shooting advertising, fashion / glamor and some photo editing. If you are just starting school, save money and buy what you need once you know what you need. I went to school required all students to use a 4×5 view camera for the first year. It was not until I worked as an assistant a studio photographer, I learned what is really needed. The top photo schools do not even have any classes in digital photography until the student has completed at least one year of school. By the time you know what you need in the way of a DSLR, the technology will be much better and probably at lower cost. Stick with film for now. Wait until your school (or department that oversees most) tells you what you need before you buy. Just keep the money in hand, so you can run out and buy the equipment once you know what it is.
