samsung camcorder firewire cable
I connected my sc-d372 camcorder to my laptop using a firewire to usb cable…but it does not work.?
I connected my sc-d372 camcorder to my laptop using a firewire to usb cable, but it keeps telling me that the device is not recognized. I have searched and installed the only related software i found on the samsung website, the issue remains the same. What do i do next?
Firstly, USB cannot handle the data rates of streaming video from a firewire interface so you would get some major frame dropouts even if you could get it to work.
Secondly, the computer is looking is being told that you have connected a firewire compatible unit but is not seeing it as you have effectively connected a USB item.
You actually need a firewire (1394) card or interface fitted to your motherboard, usually via a pci slot depending on the age of your computer.
