What is the difference between optical and digital zoom?
I have a camera and i dont know the difference … for example, is a camera 3x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom, well, it will take quality pictures only need it for takin photo of each day, up close or too far when I go to concerts i also want to extend fairly close if you have any suggestions for cameras that would be great thanks;)
The optical zoom lens is in, something like the use of a telescope. Digital zoom does the same as the expansion of software on your computer, no resampling, only the enlargement of pixels. You get grainy footage, pixelated. You are better off to take the picture, and Resample in computer software such as IrfanView (freeware). You can go to the room without significant image degradation, especially if you are printing at small sizes, like 4 x 6. I suggest you go with Kodak, HP, Olympia, or one of the other brands (I prefer Kodak). Get at least a 3x optical zoom (I prefer 5 +), 5MP or more, and be sure to get the SD card slot. That is the most popular, and you can get better cards for less money. Igb Get one or more cards, but if the camera can use, you can get more than 2 GB, but with 1 GB, be sure to get high-speed cards.
