Can a video camera with a CMOS sensor to see infrared light, or is it just that the CCD can do that? Hel please?
I'm asking cos I want to buy a camera and external CMOS using infrared lamps to see in the dark
My Sony HDR-HC1 (and HVR-A1) use CMOS chips – and have a NightShot mode and a high infrared emitter and see zero visible light when the NightShot mode. My HDR-FX1 is a 3 CCD chip and can not "see in the dark" (not included the IR emitter). The ability of infrared imaging is not visible specific chip. There are other electronic products (and the internal IR filter) to allow the capacity (or not).
