I_S_Russell given a good enough answer for most words, so I will add some snap. Pan – The camera remains at a fixed location (either on a tripod or handheld, but not on foot), and passes to another. This is what differentiates to a pan shot of Dolly, where the camera physically moves from side to side. Tilt – The camera returns to be stationary, but becomes up or down. The equivalent in camera movement, as it would be shot of the crane. Swish pan / tilt Swish – also known as a whip pan / tilt whip. These movements are the same as regular pan or tilt, but it quickly in order to create a blur of action. Russell-Crane draft response is essentially correct, I just want to add that you do not need a real or an arm of the crane arm to achieve an effect of the crane shot. If the tripod head can handle up or down, to get the same effect. The idea is to move up or down without changing the angle. Steadicam is a harness is worn on the shoulder with the arm projecting overhang in front of the camera operator. The camera is mounted on the arm with weights attached at the bottom so that the camera remains level regardless of the movement the operator. Built-field or angle of the reverse angle of this plan is the opposite of the previous photo. Normally used to film a dialogue between two people. You pull a rapidly at a rate of speaking, then pull back angle and the response of other guys.
