buying cheap pro camera?
what’s the cheapest digi SLR you can get away with calling a pro camera, I know even entry level SLR these days are great bit’s of kit but I want to know I am getting the best results I can for the money. I am not new to SLR I have some old manual film cameras which I still use from time to time but I need to join the digital age. I have a liking for nikon’s and like the D300 very much but it’s so much more money than I can afford. Is anyone out there using entry level SLR for pro use? for example?
I know I could save money in the second hand market but will buy new if I can

Hmmm…well a Canon 10D or a Nikon D70 is probably the cheapest you will get used.
Cheapest new will probably be Canon 40D or Nikon D90 (which is more semi pro). Remember that the real difference is frequently in lens selection and lighting setup so you’ll need to consider all of that. A £600 lens will outperform a £100 so unless you have a pro body, and a pro lens, and pro experience you won’t get pro shots each time every time.
