Which Digital SLR Camera? Please help?
I used film Slrs for some years, then I got myself a Nikon D200…as my first digital slr. It was just too heavy for me, albeit a beautiful camera. MY film camera was a Nikon also.
I am now stuck!
I have done photography for 8 years. I am pretty serious about it, it is a great passion. But I want a camera that is damn good, and that is not too heavy to carry out with me daily in my bag.
I have to choose between:
Olympus E510
Nikon D80 (still feels so damn heavy!)
Canon 450D or 400D
I do not have experience of the Pentax cameras, tho some look quite decent.
I did hold a Nikon D40 and D60 and both felt too small for my hands.
I do not have any equipment currently as the D200 was sold off sometime ago.
Why change or replace your camera if the only problem is the weight. When I did some shooting one time, I had my cameraperson, who is a small skinny girl, lift weights a month before we did the shoot so, she can handle the Eclair 16 mm movie camera (weight about 15-20 pounds) we used. You can get some wrist weight (or dumbbells) to build enough muscle so, the camera won’t be that heavy for you. Cheaper than buying a new camera unless, you really want to buy a new one. Then I would suggest the Canon EOS XSi 450D.
