IEEE 1394 – my computer cannot detect my camcorder that is connected?
I have a Samsung camcorder with a IEEE 1394 DV in/out. I connected it to my computer but the comp cannot detect it. I have installed my camcorder driver, downloaded software from Microsoft webby. Can anyone gimme a solution or reason why this is happening? BTW, i have the IEEE input on my computer.
There could be a bunch of different reasons for this. Make sure the camcorder is on when you turn on the computer. Try reinstalling your capture software, and make sure your firewire card is plugged in firmly.
for that matter make sure your firewire cable is firmly in place too.
If all that fails, you might need professional help. Try your software makers help line.
