What is the best time of year to buy a digital SLR camera?

I am looking for a Nikon digital SLR camera. It is a major investment and I am looking for the best price they can get. Is there any time of year that I will find the best deals? Probably I'll be purchase or the D40, D60, or D5000. The D90 is probably beyond my budget. Thanks for helping.

Why not a D70 or D80? Just asking. D40 is a good first digital SLR. Come November you should see some offers come in the newspaper of the D40 to D80. I would say that there will be a big boost in 5000.
