Do you have much experience with digital cameras to give you an honest opinion?

These specifications Wikipedia quite reasonable for a digital camera media, with 2 exceptions. Unless this is a typographical error, f/4.7 opening minutes, seems a little less typical (but maybe they will catch up with the 1 / 2000 shutter speed, which is faster than usual). However, it limits the overall flexibility in some way. More about f / 6 is better .. You did not mention the flash memory to add. This is a must, 32 MB of internal memory is only good for 10-15 photos. This could be a suitable camera for general use. Depends on how you use the camera, and if the size and controls to satisfy their hands and lifestyle. You did not mention the brand or price. If this is an unknown brand to a level below the average price, there is some risk to achieve it. Specs is not everything – the quality is important. (I'm a little concerned by the emphasis on the digital zoom. Great Digital zoom is often mentioned in the chambers to negotiate, but in reality they are completely useless and put only the clarity of their photos.) If this is the first digital camera and fits your budget though, go ahead. But you may be unhappy with the photos later and update. Good Luck
