Digital Camcorder

The versatility of a digital camcorder is undeniable. A camcorder is no longer just a camcorder. In fact, most models that are now known as digital camcorders not only capture audio and video but take still images as well. You can film all of those once-in-a-lifetime moments, and get them on YouTube immediately for the whole world to see.
A digital camcorder delivers improved audio and video quality unlike the older models, which recorded video in analog form. This earlier form of video storage, was effective, but proved to lose quality with age and begin to show a grainy texture. These deteriorating effects do not occur with a digital camcorder because, with these devices, it’s literally an all or nothing effect. Either you get data or you get nothing.
The earlier camcorder featured a VHS-compatible videotape. The digital camcorder often is accompanied by a connector, which is used to transfer the data to a computer or television. If the data is transferred to a computer, it can be edited, converted and/or copied with the proper software. Today amateur filmmakers use their computers and a digital camcorder to create their latest film.
When it comes to features and price, the digital camcorder offers a broad range of both. A basic unit will be less than a hundred dollars and may provide the perfect way to capture all of those special home memories. A more complex HD Camcorder provides upgraded features, these are more expensive and may cost anywhere from $600.00 and up. If additional accessories are needed, including batteries, carrying cases or tripods, these can either be purchased with the unit or from thousands of vendors on the internet.
Here’s just a few of the most popular models today, Sony Handycam, Canon FS2000, JVC Everio, Panasonic and PURE Digital Flip Mino.
