I recently bought this camcorder and I do not know what it meant hard drive, I thought it meant Hi-Def, but now I realize that means hard drive, so that means that this camera is also high definition?

Since you discovered HDD = Hard Disc Drive, not high definition, maybe reading the manual might be in order. I hate to break to you, but that the definition camcorder not only standard.
