Color Film

How was The Wizard of Oz and the color change in the film of the film industry?

Well, I do a small project in the history from 1920-1930 in the film industry and wondered if anyone can help answer the previous question. My main issue would be the color in the movie and how alternate color to black and white. I think the transformation is called "Technicolor"? I'm not sure, but I really need help on this please! =] Thank you and please no rude comments .=]

I do not remember exactly how it's done, but I think the Technicolor process was one of the individual layers of color (cyan, magenta, yellow) to produce an image of size super-rich. There are books that deal with photography and show how to duplicate the process now, but remember that of books. Google it.
