Is Canon FS200 Flash Memory Camcorder a good camera for filming freestyle skiing?
This camera was suggested to to me for filming these types of shots. I am an avid skier but i need a camera that can hold up for the kind of things i do. is this good for running around the terrain parks filming jumps and rails? should i go with hd? any suggestions would be appreciated.
I would stick to a flash memory camera. An HDD (Hard Disk Drive) camera will use more battery power to run the spinning (moving) drive. Also the chances of you taking a spill or bumping the camera are most certain and a hard drive could get damaged. So not only could you loose your video but maybe the drive will be unusable as well.
Make sure whatever your camera you get has a threaded lens hood (most do though). That way you can add an UV filter to protective the lens. And/or use a polarizing filter to help when shooting around the high contrast snow.
