How do I connect my Canon camcorder to my computer?
It took many hours of footage on my Canon ZR700 camcorder and I have to transfer to my computer to edit then burn to a disc, I have a USB cable, what should I do now how can I view my movie?
Ok, this is what U have to do most camcorders do not have the ease of USB streaming. Need FireWire. FireWire is the most popular, reliable and fast to transfer large video files to the computer. You should check if the following: 1. A computer's FireWire port (a cost of £ 10 approx) 2. A FireWire cable (not is usually included with the camera costs around £ 5). 3. A video editing software (Best start: Pinnacle Studio DV cost about 50 pounds, including FireWire). 4. Oh, also, a DVD burner. I always use Pinnacle Studio DV. Many others are very easy, but are also available (slightly more expensive for professional use). With Pinnacle Studio DV, you can add sound effects, title, clear sound, add special effects, transition effects and film and others. Then once you are ready and have all the above requirements, simply plug one end of the FireWire cable to the camcorder and the computer, open the Pinnacle Studio DV (or Windows Movie Maker that comes with Windows XP to download the video – which does much easier if u) after downloading the video, just edited the video if desired, or burn directly to DVD with Pinnacle Studio DV. You do not even need to use your DVD burning software. Hope this helps.
