Wireless Monitor Systems
The world is changing screens. Highlights:
We have tested and taken to a new system superior wireless surveillance.
Sony has stopped making the CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) monitor on the ground that have been used for many years and is the gateway to the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) models only
We now offer a definition of high definition Panasonic 17-inch LCD Monitor Standard
CAM-WAVE Wevie wireless LCD Marshall
This month we take delivery of a new wireless LCD monitor. Black Box is used with wireless links and monitors Teletest Optex LCD. We have never been so happy with this combination, due to frequent interruption in the signal and the lack of robustness with the monitors, but had no knowledge of any other system. Well, another is available and we are very optimistic, is a dramatic improvement that he ordered 15 of them. We expect delivery in late January.
The new system uses a CAM Wevie wave transmitter and receiver, which transmits and receives video and audio using the wireless LAN system is used with computers on wireless network WiFi. In tests we found this to give us more stable and consistent signal that the RF system used in the Black Boxes. We have had virtually no interruption while walking with the camera control from a distance and on several occasions. On the contrary, we have often been upset with the black boxes in the same conditions.
There is a delay of about half a second between the transmitted and received image, but we have a problem with that and not one of the most demanding customers, we asked. Ability to also control the sound with the same team is a great attraction. No need to stream audio to an independent director to the aid of a microphone mixer radio or video.
You can get the technical characteristics of the CAM-WAVE Wevie visiting www.wevi.tv.
We are changing the brand of screens LCD uses. The monitors that we have used so far is what has been available and I agree. But again, that impressed us. The 7-inch V-R70DP Marshall is another story. It is manufactured in the United States by Marshall Electronics. It is a sturdy piece of kit and testing it felt to be more reliable than other portable LCD monitors. Also a fine image of higher resolution.
This increase in reliability has a price. Marshall Wevie The combination is heavier and more expensive. But these drawbacks are less than what we believe is a superior and more reliable.
The transmitter attaches to the back of the battery mounting the camcorder means that you do not fix or Velcro on the side of the camcorder. The battery is mounted directly on the transmitter and the battery powers the camera and a transmitter. This eliminates the need a power cord.
Director should perform the screen with a heavy Marshall CAM-WAVE receiver with two antennas and a small footprint of the battery IDX Endura 7s. Also audio monitor, a special cable that goes to a small amplifier should be done. It is more to do, but we have special bags custom is for is comfortable to transport cargo and more importantly, we believe it is a much better system.
The jury is out and I hope my optimism is premature. To test this new phone system or John Dennis 020 7622 9888 and needed to go and do.
Sony LCD Monitors now only
If you go to the Sony Web site (www.sonybiz.net) and see the PVM series CRT monitors in the most widely used since I have memory, is "This model stops" next to each. Instead now offering the Sony LMD Series LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) monitors. There are several reasons for this, but high for them is the fact that LCD monitors are environmentally friendly:
EU believes that hazardous waste CRT due to its high content of lead glass
LCD monitors consume less than half as much power than CRT monitors
LCD monitors generate less heat and can therefore help reduce cooling costs
LCD monitors require less components
The latest LCD monitors significantly
LCDs are lighter and thinner, so less expensive to store and transport
If you are concerned about the environment, you can make a small contribution from LCD. This looks good for us so it will begin to phase out gradually our fleet of CRT. Urgent Concern between the illumination of the camera is the amount of CRT LCD monitors compare when it comes to the purity and quality color and sharpness of the image when the illumination of an interview or a scene.
Sony supports "LMD Series offers outstanding image quality." We tested alone and we are very happy with the image. We believe that the LMD will become the new standard in the years ahead if we ask a dozen 8.4-inch models, which should be with us in late January. The models include the LMD-9050 can handle Standard Definition (SD) and High Definition (HD), including HD-SDI.
The 9050 was made for broadcast and professional use. It can be powered by battery or AC power and consumes less energy because they run longer on battery as a CRT monitor. It has a full range of tickets: analog composite, Y / C, analog component, SD-SDI, HD SDI and Analog Component HD.
If you want to see or try one of these monitors call during the third week of January and some may have delivered.
Panasonic 17-inch HD-SD LCD Monitor
We also now offer a Panasonic LCD has 17-inch HD and SD-SDI inputs and the full range of SD analog inputs: composite, YC and components. If you need a large screen on the site, is a solution ideal. Unlike CRT monitors large, can be powered by batteries. It also produces an excellent image and is lighter, thinner and easier to carry.
Summary
World is changing monitors: CRT monitors are being phased out and LCD monitors for replacement. This has significant advantages in terms size, weight, power consumption, flexibility and versatility. Some people still prefer the color and image on a CRT monitor, but the new LCD models does not produce images good reference.
If you use wireless monitors a lot, you should try the new combination Wevie Marshall, to offer later this month. Our tests makes it more reliable and produces a better image than other options.
Call 020 7622 9888 if you have any questions. Ask Dennis or myself or John (Cal).
Question of the Month
I'm rethinking how to treat the test, I already tried to obtain because the response has become more proof of how quickly someone can use Google rather than a serious test of knowledge. For this month, I shall say that if you have any suggestions on what we can do to improve our service or to be more useful to you, send an email to cal@procamtv.com. If we like your idea better, you win a bottle of champagne. Read on for inspiration.
This Year Message
The biggest challenge we face is long and reliable equipment. Despite our best efforts, mistakes are always made on several occasions fortunately, relatively rare, and us crazy. To resolve this problem, we created a policy of "every step, every time." That means what it says. Each time a team is preparing a joint group of steps must be followed to ensure that each piece equipment works well and that everything needed to run the point is registered. In theory, if everyone follows the preparation of kits for each step at a time to be able to eliminate virtually all problems. That is what is drilling Procam all. If Does any suggestions to help improve our reliability and quality of our service because we are particularly interested in.
And if anyone wants to see an article about something specific just send me an e-mail and see what I can do.
Until next time, happy shooting.
