How to transfer an HD program from a DVR set-top box to Hi-Def Camcorder? HDMI? HDCP will stop this behavior? Devices single hole?
In First, that: 1) Atlantic Scientific Explo 830HDC HD DVR through Time Warner Cable (suck eggs … but that's another story) and 2) Sony HDR-HC3 (love it!) I want to transfer some recorded DVR programs (the best moments from American Idol, etc) in HD Hi-Def video camera through HDMI. Will the HD copy protection prevent this happening? It is the "analog hole", the only possibility? I think I can connect my old analog Mini-DV camcorder via RCA, but I prefer HD. For the record, I connect the two (HDMI cable box to the video camera) and I can not even TV output to display on the screen of your camcorder. I checked the Sony menu and can not find a record of "HDMI" Option … seems exist.
"I can not find a record" HDMI "option does not seem to exist …." You have answered your question. The HC3 has HDMI output (for video camera) only. The only part of this digital video camera HDV engine (and band) is the DV port – the same way out of this camcorder HDV. You can receive high-definition outside the video camera with an HDMI cable – but again, that is outside only.
