camcorder as a web cam

advice on camcorder as a web cam and which camcorder and acc. to go with it?

Camcorders are, for the most part, designed as stand-alone equipment. To use it as a webcam you will have to find a camcorder that supports a USB connection and comes with supporting software. I cannot recommend a specific model since you haven’t gone into detail about your price range or other needs.

Some accessories I would recommend are an extra battery, a decent tripod ($50+), and a UV lens filter.

The UV lens filter is clear and is used to protect the front of the camcorder lens from getting scratched or dirty. To figure out the filter size you should see a number followed by a circle with a line through it on the rim around the lens, for example 55mm ø. This is the filter diameter.
