8mm camcorder head cleaning
How do you fix a helical scanning head on an 8mm camcorder?
I’ve got a camcorder that I need to work for the next 3 hours to transfer some video tape to dvd.
The head got dirty, and the picture skewed horizontally at the top of the picture.
I tried to clean the head with a q-tip and some makeshift alcohol (aftershave), and now it doesn’t work worth a damn.
Is there any way to fix it?
re-do the cleaning with acetone, and then run a head cleaning tape
I guess you know you have contaminated the heads, and also the tape you tried to play too, use that one last.
